a letter to my heart

This letter and a letter written by my donors Mom arrived last week. I sat with it in my lap, in my car, unopened for a bit just holding it close to my heart until I called Katie and I read it to her over the phone. My heart was pounding out of my chest and there was a gargantuan lump in my throat.

What WONDERFUL and emotional words I was reading, she painted such a beautiful picture of the young man he was and how loved he is. I'm going to keep the letter private for now and continue to compose my letter of gratitude back.

Such a tragic death has allowed me to have a second chance at life - I'm going to continue to honor Michael by living my life and shining my light ever so bright. xo
